Symbol is a project about physical and pictorial space in photography. I explored how different types of space are manipulated by the system of photography. Space is flattened, expanded, reduced, inverted, and emptied in the images. I'm interested in the way that landscape photography has shaped the way we conceive of space and place and the subject-ness of the landscape.
