Bio:
Ryland Allred is a photographer and photobook publisher based in Oakland, California. In 2022 he established More Human Editions with Johnny Galvan as an experimental publishing project to realize their work and others through photobooks, zines, t-shirts, bumper stickers and exhibitions. Previously, Allred was the head of operations at Pier 24 Photography from 2016 until it's closure in 2024, where he oversaw the production and exhibition of numerous photographic projects in the space. He is currently pursuing a degree in rhetoric at UC Berkeley.

Any career level. Particularly interested to see in-progress work with specific unanswered questions that need resolution.

Bio:
David Carmona is Director of San Francisco's Robert Koch Gallery, established in 1979. He has served in this role since 2013 and brings nearly 30 years of gallery experience in New York and San Francisco. During his tenure, the gallery has presented notable solo exhibitions by Irving Penn, Edward Burtynsky, Matt Black, and Mimi Plumb, among others, as well as significant group exhibitions including "New Bauhaus in America" and "Surrealism in Photography: 1920s–1980s." The Robert Koch Gallery exhibits at internationally recognized art fairs, including The Armory Show in New York, Paris Photo, and The Photography Show, presented by AIPAD. The gallery's program spans photography from the 19th century through the present, reflecting an ongoing engagement with the history and evolution of the medium.

While based in New York, Carmona contributed as a portfolio reviewer at the International Center of Photography (ICP).

Bio:
John Chiara is an American contemporary photographer and visual artist based in San Francisco, widely known for his radical, labor-intensive approach to analog photography. Rejecting digital convenience and standard film formats, Chiara creates one-of-a-kind, large-scale photographic objects by building his own massive cameras and shooting directly onto photo-sensitive paper.

Bio:
Prior to becoming a gallerist, Diane was a fine art photographer who had shown domestically and internationally. Before that she worked in non-profit as well as financial sector. She founded CHUNG 24 GALLERY in 2021 as a platform for discovering emerging and mid-career artists and showcasing new works by established artists. The gallery seeks to feature artists from diverse backgrounds.

Interested in:
Coherent bodies of work with compelling narratives. Specifically, fine art photography projects that aim to innovate and reinterpret the medium without compromising the craft. Analog, digital and alternative photographic processes are all of interest, with particular focus in landscape, abstract and mixed-media.

Bio:
Binh Danh is an artist who reimagines traditional photographic techniques to explore history, identity, and place. Known for his contemporary daguerreotypes of national parks, he creates reflective images that invite viewers to see themselves within the American landscape. His work is held in major collections, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the National Gallery of Art, SFMOMA, the de Young, and the Asian Art Museum. In 2023, his book Binh Danh: The Enigma of Belonging became the first recipient of the Minami Book Grant for Asian American Visual Artists from Radius Books. He is also an associate professor of art at San José State University.

Bio:
Janet Delaney is a fine art photographer whose work explores the social and political dynamics of urban life. Her books include South of Market (MACK 2013), addressing the 1980s gentrification of her San Francisco neighborhood; Public Matters (MACK 2018), capturing public life in the Mission District during the Reagan era; and Red Eye to New York (MACK 2021), portraying 1980s Manhattan. Too Many Products, Too Much Pressure, about her father’s life as a mid-20th-century Los Angeles salesman (Deadbeat Club 2025) was recently released. She is currently working on a sequel to South of Market, focusing on tech’s impact on her former neighborhood to be published in the fall of 2027.

Delaney received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2020 and three NEA Grants in the 1980s. She was commissioned by the San Francisco Art Commission to document Treasure Island in 2022. Her work is held in major institutions including SFMOMA, the de Young Museum, the Museum of the City of New York, and the High Museum. She has exhibited widely in the U.S. and abroad. Delaney earned her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and held a faculty position at the University of California, Berkeley. Her work is represented by Euqinom Gallery in San Francisco. She currently lives in Berkeley, California.

Bio:
Monique Deschaines is a curator, gallerist, and educator. She founded San Francisco–based EUQINOM Gallery in 2015, where she represents emerging and mid-career artists working in photography and photo-based practices. She served on the Board of Directors of SF Camerawork from 2014 to 2022 and formerly taught Visual Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to founding EUQINOM Gallery, Deschaines was Associate Director at Haines Gallery. She holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in association with Tufts University.

Bio:
Omar Jason Farah is Curatorial Assistant at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA). Prior, they held curatorial roles at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of American Art. They received a MA from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College and a BA from Princeton University.

Bio:
Elijah Gowin uses photography to speak about ritual, landscape and memory. He was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1967 and received his BA in Art History from Davidson College in 1990 and MFA in Photography from the University of New Mexico in 1997. His photographs are in the collection of the National Gallery of Art, Houston Museum of Fine Art, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, among others. His awards include the John S. Guggenheim Fellowship in 2008 as well as grants from the Charlotte Street Foundation and the Puffin Foundation. He founded Tin Roof Press to publish his books on art and photography including “The Last Firefly” in 2024 and "Of Falling and Floating" in 2011. Presently, he is a Professor in the Department of Media, Art and Design at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where he directs photographic studies. Gowin is represented by the Robert Mann Gallery, New York, Photo Gallery International, Tokyo and Bond Millen Gallery, Richmond, Virginia.

Bio:
Lonnie Graham is one of the founding members of the PhotoAlliance. Graham, a Pew Fellow, is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the Pennsylvania State University and is former director of the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.  Graham served as Director of Photography at the Manchester Craftsman Guild in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The Manchester Craftsman Guild is an organization where he developed innovative pilot projects which were the subject of a Harvard case study. These programs were also cited as a National  Model for Art Education by the Clinton White House. 

He created the African/American Garden Project, a physical and cultural exchange between urban mothers and Kenyan farmers. Graham was cited as Artist of the Year and presented the Governors Award by Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. Graham served on the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington DC. He’s the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts and Pew  Charitable Trust Travel Grant for travel to Ghana. Professor Graham is a  four time Pennsylvania Council for the Arts Fellowship recipient. His book, A Conversation with the World has been published by Datz Press in Seoul Korea. Some exhibitions include the Goethe Institute in Accra, Ghana, Christchurch, New Zealand, La Maison de Etat-Unis in Paris France, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC.

Bio:
Westeigh is a Bay Area artist and co-founder of Frame 1A, an exhibition space presenting contemporary photography and engaging with the regional photography community. Her practice looks at what remains legible when images, objects, memories or identities are fragmented, altered, obscured or brought into relation. Using photography and material experimentation, she explores the tension between the individual and the whole, and how meaning can shift, but not disappear. Alongside her studio practice, she works closely with photographers through Frame 1A, helping develop, edit, sequence and prepare bodies of work for exhibition.

Interested in:
I’m especially drawn to artists who are asking how their work communicates and who are open to sharpening that through editing, sequencing, and presentation. I’m particularly interested in working with photographers who are developing their voice, building a cohesive body of work, and preparing projects for exhibition or the next stage of their practice.

Bio:
Chris Grunder splits his time between running Bass & Reiner Gallery at the Minnesota Street Project and working for museums, galleries, and artists as a Fine Art Documentation Photographer. For the better part of a decade, he taught classes and workshops across various Bay Area institutions including SFAI, CCA, and Sonoma State University.

Early career folks, people stuck on intractable problems, or people who just don't like a lot of varnish in their criticism.

Bio:
Ann M. Jastrab is the Executive Director at the Center for Photographic Art (CPA) in Carmel, California. CPA strives to advance photography through education, exhibition and publication. Before coming onboard at CPA, Ann worked as the gallery director at the beloved RayKo Photo Center in San Francisco for a decade. She was also the gallery manager at Scott Nichols Gallery and also taught for more than 10 years at the Maine Photographic Workshops (now Maine Media) in Rockport, ME.

Bio:
Kate Jordahl is a photographer, editor, educator, and curator. She is a Professor Emerita of Fine Arts and Communication/Photo at Foothill College, California, USA, and co-owner of True North Editions, Bellingham, Washington. With her husband, Geir Jordahl, she has published/designed/edited over 40 photography books. Jordahl's photographs are in numerous collections, including the Bibliothéque Nationale de France, Paris; San Jose Museum of Art; Santa Barbara Museum of Art; University of Texas at Dallas; and the Yosemite Museum. She has had featured exhibitions at Vision Gallery, SF; Yamate Gallery, Yokohama; Modernbook Gallery; and the SFMOMA Artist’s Gallery. In addition to her work on the book, both handmade and commercially printed, Jordahl's artwork focuses on handmade and alternative photographic processes, including cyanotype, platinum/palladium, and lumens. True North Editions book projects have received many photo book awards. They include San Joaquin: River of Spirit with the Ansel Adams Gallery, Searching for True North with Modernbook Editions, Native American Ceremonial Dancers, The Village: Bill Owens – Jamaica, Pride: Heart of a Movement and Bill Owens: CARS, and Cultures in Transition: Spirit Heart Soul, which features the photographs of Oliver Klink. Nora Lalle is an artist, curator and the founder of Pamplemousse Projects, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in San Francisco, CA.

Her artistic work explores surrealism, memory, storytelling, and changing landscapes through photography & collage. Her curatorial and editorial work focuses on highlighting emerging artists and creating opportunities in print and on walls for underrepresented voices.

Nora is the founder and creative director of Pamplemousse Magazine, a print publication about film photography.

I'm most interested in film photography and alternative process, but can definitely give feedback on digital images. I'd be interested in meeting with people who are early on in their career.

Bio:
Anna Lee is Photography Curator for Special Collections at Stanford University Libraries. A curator and art historian, she works across exhibitions, collections, research, and teaching, with an interest in the histories of photography and the many ways the medium continues to evolve.

Lee has curated exhibitions of contemporary and historical photography in both museum and academic settings, including Gina Osterloh: Mirror Shadow Shape at the Columbus Museum of Art and Focus on Community: The Ricardo Alvarado Photography Archive at Stanford, which she co-curated with Benjamin Stone. Lee has helped to build Stanford Libraries’ photography collections through key acquisitions, including the archives of Irene Poon and Charles Wong. She is also part of Stanford’s Asian American Art Initiative.

Before joining Stanford, Lee held curatorial and academic positions at the Columbus Museum of Art and Smith College. She received her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Chicago.

Mark Murrmann is Photo Director at Mother Jones, where he oversees and assigns all photography for the website and magazine. He has been at Mother Jones since 2007, having previously been a freelance photojournalist and music journalist. He is a photo educator and writer and remains an active photographer who regularly self-publishes photozines.

Interested in:
Particularly interest in documentary projects, editorial work, and portraiture. I am especially excited to see works in progress on which he can give constructive feedback regarding sequencing and editing, strategies for publishing and exploring avenues to expand a project.

Bio:
Emmanuelle Namont is a Bay Area curator, artist, and educator whose practice is rooted in contemporary photography and its expanded forms. While photography is central to her curatorial work, she has also developed exhibitions encompassing sculpture, installation, painting, and other interdisciplinary practices. Since 2008, she has worked with over one hundred national and international artists, developing exhibitions that explore diverse approaches to image-making, materiality, place, memory, and conceptual artistic practices.

Since 2008, Namont has served as co-director and co-curator of OFFSpace, a site-specific curatorial organization presenting diverse artistic practices by artists from the Bay Area and beyond, with projects spanning San Francisco to Hong Kong SAR. She has also curated exhibitions at Art Works Downtown, including "Transformative Landscapes: A Contemporary Perspective", which brought together three photographers whose materially transformed images reconsidered landscape, human intervention, and our relationship to the natural world.

In 2023, Namont curated "Uncanny Beauty" at the Harvey Milk Center for the Arts in San Francisco, featuring 22 photographers, and "Heritage Threads" at Upstart Modern in Sausalito, bringing together seven women artists exploring cultural and historical legacies. Her recent exhibition "Synthetic Nature" brought together five local and national artists incorporating plastic into their practices.

Namont co-founded CHUNG | NAMONT, a San Francisco gallery devoted to contemporary photography, where she curated seven exhibitions, including "Exposure", "Hanford Reach", "Confluence", and "Metamorphosis". She holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and has taught and mentored artists at institutions including the San Francisco Art Institute and UC Berkeley Extension.

J. John Priola is a contemporary visual artist working in photography and video. His work is known for refined presentation and print quality. Priola's work has been included in numerous exhibitions, such as In A Different Light: Visual Culture, Sexual Identity, Queer Practice at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive, "Prospect '96" at the Schirn Kunsthalle, Frankfurt, Germany. His work was part of a five-year traveling exhibition “Picturing Eden” launching from the George Eastman House/International Museum of Photography and Film. His work is included in museum collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He is the recipient of awards such as the John Anson Kittredge Fund, Aaron Siskind Foundation, and the California Arts Council. The most recent monograph was published by Kehrer Verlag 2022. His work has been represented by many distinguished galleries including Fraenkel Gallery, Gallery Paule Anglim, and Marc Foxx Gallery, and Weston Gallery. He has taught in many degree programs such as SF State, CCA, ICP Bard and he taught at the San Francisco Art Institute for 25 years.

Laura Sackett is the creative director and co-founder of LensCulture, one of the leading sites committed to discovering and publishing the best in the contemporary photography. She leads all aspects of design including strategy, brand, website, print, communications, screenings and exhibitions. Besides leading the creative direction for LensCulture, she also designs and co-curates LensCulture exhibitions and the online galleries. Laura is a juror, reviewer & nominator in several international Photo Awards and Festivals. She is a founding Board Member of PhotoAlliance, and earned an MFA in photography from the California College of the Arts. She currently lives in Oakland, CA.

Laura is open to seeing work at all levels. She can provide feedback on projects that are still in the creative/conceptual phase to feedback on marketing ideas for finished projects.

Bio:
Danny Sanchez is the director at Themes+Projects gallery. Since 2006, he has supported emerging artists in developing their artistic vision and navigating the fine art market, with an emphasis on editing and sequencing, pricing and editioning, and strategic positioning. He has been a portfolio reviewer, juror, and panelist for organizations including PhotoAlliance, PhotoCarmel, Review Santa Fe, Medium: A Festival for Photography, Photolucida Critical Mass, Denver Month of Photography (MoP), and the San Francisco Artist Network.

In addition to his role at Themes+Projects, Sanchez is an instant film photographer and active in the Bay Area photography community. He is involved with the San Francisco Instant Photowalk and served on the planning committees for PolaCon Bay Area and the inaugural PolaCon Portland in 2026. A Bay Area native, Sanchez holds a BFA in Art with a concentration in Photography from San José State University.
