Between Hills and Water
In the project, Between Hills and Water, there are two concepts. Firstly, I am exploring the mixture and comparison of western and eastern cultures. Art types of Chinese painting and photography, processes of the Cyanotype and Chinese landscape painting, subjects of Chinese mountains and American mountains, all include two kinds of culture. There are some marvelous reactions and interesting results when two types of culture meet. I hope I can influence people to feel and think about this globalization era. Secondly, I miss my motherland deeply as an overseas student. The full moon symbolizes family reunion in Chinese culture. It is the Mid-Autumn Festival which is time to go back home with families. In addition, I made all moons same in every piece. It means we look up at the same moon that is the moon from hometown in the sky, wherever you are.
