The Suri People and Their Body Art
Last December, I visited remote areas in southern Ethiopia’s Omo Valley, where I was awed by the proud people of the Suri tribe, their exquisite adornments, unique culture and naming traditions. I also was intrigued by the contrasts in my brief visits with the nearby Hamar and Kara tribes.
