Fractured
This work is about the fragmentation and isolation of our lives due to the inescapable noise from news, politics, social media and TV. The photographs are close-ups of a TV screen using a low res phone camera, combined into diptychs and blown up until they begin to break apart. Everything is noise. We try to find glimpses of truth behind soundbites and images that bombard our waking lives. We search for a way for our own voice to be heard above the din. But in the end when we close our eyes to sleep, the noise pushes its way in. It drowns out the quiet space leaving us with nothing but fragmented images, their meaning distorted and illusive.
